Chilly Saturday morning

Saturday, July 13, 2013

Which is a HUGE relief after the heat of the last two weeks!

My stomach is a bit sour right now, which I suspect is from the new medicine. Hopefully that gets better as I get used to it. And I need to email my doctor because I'm running out of the blood pressure medicine.

On August 14 I have to attend a three-hour class about weight-loss surgery. I know there are a lot of different kinds. My co-worker had the gastric sleeve, and she's doing great. I'm skittish about the lap band. I'm just not crazy about having a foreign object embedded in me. But there's still a lot to be learned.

I told my boss the story when I went back to work on Thursday. She said she'll work with me and give me full support. Of course, she hopes I won't tell her on Tuesday night that I'm having surgery on Wednesday morning! No danger of that. Everything needs to be arranged way in advance. I also need to meet with a nutritionist and have a med conference with a psychiatrist, and we need to schedule a sleep study. I don't know yet when that's likely to be.

All of this has left me with even less energy than usual. I'm trying to do at least a little. I got all the dirty pans in my sink and on the stovetop washed before I had "breakfast with Bobby." In a minute I'm going to empty the dishwasher before Chopped comes on. At some point I need to put the dirty dishes into it!

The sleep study is not a bad thing. I did one a few years ago and I have a machine that is about 6" x 12" x 4" some hose and a piece to cover the nose. There are several style to consider as far as the facial "mask". DEE107 also uses a CPAP machine. It's not that bad and not scary.and not that "BigMonster"you called it

Do you realize how much you have accomplished this week? You have taken so many forward steps in your life. You have seen the doc. Got the meds you need. Scheduled the weight loss surgery classes. Got your pots and pans clean and had breakfast with Bobby.... good for you.
i have high hopes. I think when you go to the class the type of surgery you want will become apparent. I am convinced that the jump start this process will give you will be like a shot of energy, enthusiasm and esteem.

I'm glad you're having a cool down. It's hotter today at almost 90 degrees but not as humid as it's been. Are you to take your new RX with food or crackers? I'm sure in time that queasy feeling will go away once your body becomes used to it. Take each day as it comes and it'll still be awhile before you have weight loss surgery. I know there is a lot of pre-appt. type things that need to be done first. I'll be here wishing you well and I'm glad you're finally getting some medical help now. Enjoy your weekend off.

Hugs & Love,

Jill emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
