Trailer Trash!

Saturday, July 13, 2013

I admit it....we are trailer trash and proud of it! We have a large piece of land and could not afford to build so we got a FREE mobile home and have been renovating it for 3 years now. It is a 1969 model and just the most tacky thing you have ever seen, but it has been enjoyable to make it what I want. We had to do the major jobs first. Plumbing, leaks, wiring, but now I can do a few things to make it look pretty. We have a long way to go, but it is a challenge and keeps us motivated to get things done.
We did a major ceiling project yesterday and I am so sore today. Lots of overhead reaching and stretching. I did not get in as much walking as usual but I think I burned lots of calories with the work we did.
I love Saturdays because my husband is usually gone for the day and I have the house to favorite times. Got lots of cleaning up to do but I actually enjoy it. When he is gone I crank up my music and get motivated!

Don't ever call yourself "trailer trash". By the looks of the picture it looks like you have a beautiful home. So what if it looks bad on the least it will keep the real trailer trash out from robbing you...LOL Home is where you hang your heart!

I don't have any idea how many calories I burn. I just know that I am sweating and breathing I know my body is burning fat! Thanks for the kind words.

    Dear Joy!
What a great way to exercise! How many calories do you know to count? It sounds like an awesome way to relax with no one home and your house to clean. I, myself love to clean but rarely get to be alone. I'd sure love that!

I do wish you the best of success on your weight loss journey.
    All the best!

Thank you for the encouragement. I am very proud of what we have accomplished. It isn't fancy but it is our home and we love it. The views surrounding our place are worth a fortune so our humble little home is enough for me.

Sounds like fun....I helped a guy do the same thing your doing. He bought a trailer that was just trashed. We stripped it down and redone the walls, ceiling, trim, floors....and it turned out pretty nice. I was in the service at the time and it gave me something to do with my free time. It looks pretty nice what you have shown in the picture....good luck with your project.

Never apologize for what you are doing. How awesome it is that you aren't sitting back expecting handouts like so many other people! I am so proud of you!! It's amazing how much exercise you can get doing those kind of chores that we don't normally do. I remember when I lived in Texas and pulling weeds out of the sprinkler heads one day. It took a couple of hours. The next day I was so sore in places that I didn't even know I had muscles!
