It Wasn't as Bad as I Feared!!!

Saturday, July 13, 2013

First things first: emoticon emoticon emoticon Dear Sparkfriends for all your support, kind comments and making me laugh! emoticon (The comments about going to stay at a hotel made me bust out laughing!!!) Believe me, I was sorely, TEMPTED! emoticon

Seeing my sister after 11 yrs went surprisingly well emoticon I think we were both 'on our best behavior' and didn't want to drag back into old junk. We were able to visit like 'casual friends' - and I'm happy to report that the relationship is on a 'cautiously warming' trend.

No feared meltdown happened when she saw my dad. emoticon She was jolted and saddened by the changes, but no hysterics. emoticon I HATE those the MOST!!!!

Foodwise, for the most part, I did ok. I passed on the birthday cake. But at dinner with my sis, I ordered French Dip beef sandwich with french fries. Not too bad a choice. I ate too much tho and had to make a couple of 'discrete' visits to the bathroom to 'give it back'.

I must have been WAY MORE tense about this visit than I thought cuz I woke up with sore shoulder & neck muscles. I slept like a log (usually I wake up several times during the nite) and got up at 7:30 (I'm usually up by 6). Since all the relatives are gone, I had a leisurely wake up cup of HOT tea and HOT skinny mocha and some catching up with DH as I tried to banish the cobwebs from my brain. emoticon emoticon

Then got a call from the washer repair guy- he's on his way! emoticon emoticon emoticon ...... Washer is fixed!!! One of the best ways I've spent $125 emoticon

My plan today includes laundry, laundry and did I mention Laundry???

I am glad you found common ground with your sister. I have a lot of childhood issues with my brother and we argue whenever we are together so I understand how nerve wrecking it can be. Glad you have your house and washer back too and good for you for letting go and letting someone else take control of the laundry while you had a house full.

Isn't it nice to fear the worst and find out that it wasn't as bad as we had feared?

You survived the storm. Good for you!
At least your sister is interested in helping or at least supporting your dad.
Enjoy the calm, Friend!
