Restaurant done right

Saturday, July 13, 2013

Yesterday we went to Durango to run errands and we had lunch at our favorite place on 2nd Street. "Cyprus Cafe" We first went there about 8-10 years ago because the name drew us in - we live in Cyprus for 3 years, it is where we got married and where out DD was born.
I never used to pay much attention to where the food came from but the last few years it has become important to me. The Cyprus Cafe sources their food locally and even have their own vegetable and herb garden. The beef is grass fed from a local ranch - beautiful!

I had the warmed duck salad over spinach with olives, orange and manchego cheese. Totally "Plan friendly" :)

We had a great time wandering around downtown Durango and it made me realize how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful area part of the time and in another the rest of the time.

We try to make it Durango at least once a summer. Just to get to some altitude and be cooler.

I have been to several cities in Colorado, but never Durango. It looks like a good dish and a nice restaurant to visit.

Durango is one of my favorite CO towns. There's a greasy spoon on the main street that has awesome.... off plan..... hash browns.

Yum! I am in CA right now visiting my 93 yr. old mother and having a great time. On Monday night before we left we ate at Cyprus Cafe too. There are
quite a few Durango restaurants which use locally spurced foods now, so enjoy! How are the fires ?
