Day 13 of the 30 Day Challenge - Summer Edition

Saturday, July 13, 2013

It wouldn't be called a CHALLENGE if it wasn't challenging and today my challenge will be not to emotional eat! Dh had a restless night last night and all his nocturnal wonderings, snacks and who knows what else kept me awake. So I am tired!

And he is grumpy! Not a good combination!

The book I started reading is okay but I could do without the curse words thanks. I just don't think that in this book they are necessary, it's not a highly emotional drama where such words are appropriate! Anyway I am trying to ignore them and focus on the story itself!

Funny thing is, this book is very similar to the book I read a while back called "Invisible" but Ginny's book was better! That is just my initial opinion having only read 7 chapters of "Good enough to eat".

Here is my review on Ginny's book "Invisible" if you are interested.

As for the challenge, today I am sorting out my fridge and some kitchen stuff to make meal prep easier. Going to slice up veggies and keep them in baggies or containers so that when I am hungry I can just grab! This is particularly helpful when I am trying to write and dont' want to stop to eat! If I have veggies all ready, I can take a quick break and then get back at it!

I must admit, trying to write a novel while the kids are on vacation is not the smartest idea I have had!
But this story is one that just needs to come out, whether it is convenient for me to write it now or not!
I don't know how it will turn out, the characters keep surprising me! LOL

Have a great Day 13...remember that day 15 is weigh and measure day!

I just want to say how proud I am of all of you and your hard work!

I have heard that some of you have lost weight already! WHoo hoo! emoticon

Congrat's on your book. I find it is never convenient to write, but so rewarding!

Finally over here to check in. I continued sugar free, went for a 6 mile hike and 1hr in the paddle boat (I did most of the work and kept that baby moving). Great day!

I hope you have a better night tonight. BTW, I read the
review and it sounds like it might be a good read.
My fridge is empty and that is good as I can make a list
of the healthy items again to start off the new week.
I went Greek dancing today so hopefully moved a few
of the calories I consumed with the haloumi and the baby
octopus...Good luck with your novel.

With you there on the disturbed night - had to get up at 3 a.m. to load departing student into a 3.30 a.m. taxi - flight at 6 a.m. to Brazil, via Johannesburg - and therefore couldn't sleep soundly beforehand, and then missed my next alarm for gym but compensated for that last night by walking to Rugby with DBB. I managed to stay awake for that - we won!!

Now that the student has gone, I've cleared out the fridge prior to re-stocking with my healthy options. It seems that most of the Brazilian students who stay with me would rather eat starch than green leafy things - not that I change my eating habits to suit them - but I now have more space for my choices.

The painter is here again today so I'll be fetching and carrying all day, then going for a neighbourhood walk later.

I hope tonight provides rest and recuperation for you and your dh.
I also hope you can keep on truckin' with the novel. You have inspired me for sure!

Cleaned out the fridge yesterday too. Feels great!
Hard to get things done when school is out.
Remember summer days so well with the kids.

A restless night doesn't make for a good morning :(
I loved "Invisible" - I could relate to all the characters on some level. I agree with you that curse words are distracting and so very unnecessary!!
We had a great day in Durango yesterday, went to our favorite place to eat - all organic, grass fed etc and easy to stick to plan. Walked around downtown for a while - it was fun to be back!

amazing how much you have going on. That is just beautiful.

I looked back at some of your blogs and the extensive info on your profile -- there are some good tips there too. Very deliberate and dedicated. I think that intensity is what defines success-- just going at it. so Wowzers.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful blog and all your plusses and minuses, I appreciate how powerful a community this is because of inspiring people like you.

Sorry you had a restless night Mel. I had to venture out to the couch because the boyfriend was sawing logs. I am off to the park to hike and then meet up with friends at the beach for lunch. Now I am off to get a pedi for pretty toes in the sand:) Later I will post and read your review:) Enjoy the day all!
