More pics of some beauteous stuff that hit the gallery! Enjoy!

Remember all those cool lighting fixtures I told you about a few blogs back? Well, here they are...they came from a REALLY swanky place here in Bonita Springs called 'The Colony' there isn't a house in that gated community that is less than a million dollars. They are located only about 15 minutes away from our gallery...soooooo score on some awesome stuff!

These I totally love...they have acrylic insets that are actually orange in color..they rock!

Here's another shot of the art nouveau looking fixtures...fun and funky...perfect for my little gallery!

Better shot of the awesome spoke looking fixtures...these cost $1700 EACH retail! emoticon Can you EVEN imagine? Nope...not me either! emoticon

This one was hard to get a descent shot of...but it's UBER cool. Copper ceiling pendant with 3 copper lights hanging and frosted glass. I'm sure it cost a fortune to.

Another hard one to appreciate with all the stuff going on in the background...but VERY cool it would be perfect over a bar...long with 7 light bulbs and rock salt panel insets. Soooo interesting!

I totally love these Tommy Bahama lights...Tommy has lost a little of his favor in decorating style but plenty of people want that Tommy look when they first move down from the northern tundra...so Tommy style and cottage style always have a home in my gallery.

What's old to one is new and excitng to another...just the theme of my gallery. "Rethink, reuse, restore, and recycle! Mother Earth will love you!" emoticon emoticon

Here's a MOST EXCELLENT barrcalounger in leather...looks BRAND new! emoticon

I'm SO in emoticon with this hand carved Wellsley Guild dresser...it's the bomb. Can't figure out why it hasn't sold yet...other than the fact that everyone WANTS it...but they don't want to cough up it's value! Oh well...the right SMART buyer will come along...just as they did for that fabulous custom sectional. Sometimes you just have to be patient...DH would just give the stuff away to clear out space...but I have to protect my consignees and their pricing so I'm much more mindful of what things are worth!

This sectional was the BOMB! It was the most beautiful shade of soft aqua blue and the fabric was a yummy chenille...sooooo comfy! It finally sold for it's true value of $2500...I had people offering me $600~what the? emoticon It was all custom and it's retail was over $7,000. The people got a good deal and knew it! I LIKE INFORMED buyers...not crazy people! emoticon

Better shot of it in the customer's home. I do 'whole house' appraisals and occasionally if the stuff is sensational buy out the entire contents. That frees up paperwork AND the dreaded paperwork of paying out once items are sold!

Here's another gorgeous item. All hand cast..it's an art table with dancers in the most beautiful colors with a custom lamp. Same deal here...everyone WANTS it...they just want it for next to nothing...no can do! emoticon

Here's a shot of the showroom from up above on our second level. It's SOOOO crowded right now..much more than I like it to be...but I just can't turn down cool stuff! I always find a spot for it somewhere!

Luckily a big sofa, console, big leather Pottery Barn Chair and lamp are going to a new home today! That frees up a little space...but it won't be long til we move stuff back over from the warehouse.

Well that should let you know what's up at the gallery. Remember this is NOT any type of solicitation...it's just showing you what I do on my day to day. It's a FUN job if not a HARD job...you'd think I'd be a LOT thinner than I am pushing, pulling, running up and down that long flight of stairs.

But sadly, it's not SUSTAINED exercise...so I still have to depend on good ole' 'Slim' my treadmill...and I've gotta push myself for strength training on the next 5% challenge...muscle burns more calories...know it..gotta DO it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I love those cool lighting fixtures in the first photo, if I lived down by you I would have bought them off you already for sure, they would look really good in my house! That blue sectional is really nice my parents have one in a darker colour and they paid round $4500 for it when they purchased it at the time. I love looking at what you do for your work, my work wouldn't be so interesting to publish online since its about writing a textbook and translation. Alas its private though so I wouldn't be able to do that! I haven't been down to Florida even when I lived in Louisiana. I have to go one time just to see what I've been missing. I like unique furniture, jewelry and furnishings. I don't even bother with chain stores because I just can't bother with regular plain boring furniture. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great stuff you have in your gallery. I am glad you protect the value of your customers items. If they wanted to give it away, they would have done that already.

My DH is great at selling stuff. But you are right, you have to get the right buyer. So many people think, "If it's used, regardless of the shape and condition it is in, then it should be dirt cheap." I'll never forget the time I rented a stall at a swamp meet!. I had a brand new baby crib, never used, clean, undamaged. I put a sign on it, and I wanted near the same price I paid for it. This guy came by and said he'd give me $25.00 for it.

I glared at him. "Say WHAT?!!!"

"Well, the guy over six rows had a whole pile of them he was selling for $10.00 each."

I told him, "I'm not guy over six rows. And I can guarantee his are not new, unused, clean, or undamaged. You want one for $25.00 go talk to him. I'm sure he'll take $25.00 instead of $10.00.

    "It's a swap meet, Lady."

I was ready to call security. But instead I said, "Don't you call me Lady! Mister!" He left real quick. I ended up giving that crib to a real needy couple that were going to have a baby and couldn't afford a cardboard box. They just couldn't win no matter what they did. They were so thrilled to get a crib and new, too. I felt cheated for giving it away, but I wasn't going to sell it for $25.00 to some jerk that was just trying to pick a fight. Strange how I think.

Wished my DH was there at the time. We just sold some of our stuff as we are trying to downsize. He sold some of our collectable cabinets for a great price and strangely, the people were all fighting over it. They would ask what he wanted for it and he would tell them, then they would say, "will you take ???" and he would say no because it was in great shape, and it was a family heirloom to him. Because they were so different than you can find just anywhere the people were all wanting them. It got down to the first person to hand over the cash and haul it away got it. Had one guy call me back four hours after he had told me he would call and said he wanted it. I told hit, Sorry, it sold and it's gone already. He was mad at me because he had told me he wanted it. Then you should have paid for it and taken it with you. Not call me four hours later than you promised. He backed up and said I was right, which surprised me.

It isn't an easy job - it only looks that way. Have a great one! Keep on showing off those items you have. It only helps! Love those little crystal chandeliers, too.

Great blog. You husband and I think alike. I believe in moving stuff out instead of holding out for top dollar you can squeeze out. Especially when you have a full showroom floor and a warehouse full elsewhere. Volume, baby, volume.
Lower the price on that gorgeous Wellsley Guild dresser, take a smaller profit and move on to the next piece. Stop falling in love with your inventory!
And tell hubby he has an ally here.
Hope you take my advice in good cheer. Just my thoughts. Still friends, I hope?

Thanks for taking us inside your daily life! What fun; I can only imagine how beautiful your home is!

I remember when I first moved to FL and tried to fit my New England style into the FL style homes! It gradually became a mix of styles; too bad I didn't know you then!! I would have loved to have visited your place!

Beautiful store. It doesn't look crowded at all. Everything looks artfully arranged. Love the funky lamps, the comfy looking lounger and the dresser. Wish I was there to peruse the store but then I'd probably be the one begging you for a deal. And then, I'd need a larger house to put everything in with my existing stuff which I cannot possibly afford. But one can dream!

Really love looking at your store through your pictures. I enjoy going through the "antique" stores in my area, but don't remember finding so many beautiful things as you have there. I would have problems leaving your place without something new!

You have lots of beautiful, unique items. It would be hard to not want to take everything yourself. lol You have so many great items that it amazes me that some of the things you've had in their for a long time haven't sold yet. People always want something for nothing! GRR!

I love that you recycle so many great items and that they don't end up in the trash. emoticon

I have really enjoyed seeing the gorgeous pieces you are dealing with.

Yes, people want what they want but don't want to pay the true value of it's worth.

It all goes back to you only get what you pay for.

You are gifted and anointed to do this "work" which is why this is so much fun for you.

    Enjoy your weekend emoticon

I always love seeing what you've got in the gallery, my friend!!! Someone had the "balls" to offer you $600. for that sectional?!?! Inconceivable!!!!! But you know, some folks have the mentality of consignment is the same as "yard sale"!!! UGH!!
You have some really sweet items!! Love the table with the dancers around the base! Love the dresser that you love, too!! Really pretty and reeks of style and grace. Were I to have a ton of $ and a overly huge home, I'd be coming right to you to find all the goodies needed to furnish it!!!
What an eye-opener with you "bird's eye view" of the ground floor from the second! Really nice!
Wishing you much success in all you do!! Love ya, Bobbi! (((HUGS)))

That sectional was beautiful and just what I am looking for. Carpeting in the LR is the color of wheat and I think something aqua would be perfect.

Nice post and lots of beauteous stuff.
