About that A/C...

Saturday, July 13, 2013

I'm heading to work in running shorts and a technical T shirt, good socks and athletic shoes. Nope, I don't run for a living. I sit at a desk and program a computer.

But the building has "issues" with levels of heating/cooling. One corner will be beastly, another freezing. It's not that management doesn't TRY on our behalf. We regularly request the A/C to be turned on for special work schedules, but it rarely "works". So we have all learned that if we must be there on a weekend, dress accordingly.

With the mandatory OT, we get to pick what hours we intend to go in, it can be a longer regular day, a weekend day, or some combination. I've opted for an extra hour on four weekdays, and half a Saturday, this week. I was in a couple weeks ago on a Saturday, similarly, and was trickling sweat by the time I left work.

Wish me luck... staying awake and being productive.

But I must say this: the heat is a lot easier to handle at maintenance weight than it was at my heaviest! Right? Of course right!

Spark on! emoticon

It's a wonder that someone has not suffered heat stroke! You can bet once that happens, they will maintain the comfort levels! I'm surprised they're not concerned about computers malfunctioning and you not being able to get work done as a result.

I'm sorry you have to endure that extreme heat. Really makes it hard to concentrate and work! I think I saw a portable misting fan on Amazon. Here's the link:

Hope this helps!

I'm thinking that a little spray bottle to mist yourself with cool water might help!!

Gotta say: when I was at my heaviest I'd actually get heat rash from my thighs rubbing together. Heat is a lot more bearable slim!!

Good for you, sustaining that positive 'tude.

I hope the faulty a/c managed to hit a range that's reasonably comfortable for you, and doesn't fry your computer equipment!

I must have a glandular problem, I'm still as sweaty as I used to be! But at least now people agree the weather is hot and not that it's just me!

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe how weight loss has made my ability to deal with heat much better. Ok, when it comes to cold -- have to add layers, but hey -- I'll do it!

Have a good Saturday and don't work too hard. HUGS and smiles.

All the perks at your work place LOL! I could always handle the heat but it is easier when you aren't packing the extra pounds. Drink your water and try to stay cool. HUGS!
