Bad Labs

Saturday, July 13, 2013

And I was feeling pretty darn good..... my kidney labs are somewhat worse.

I wrote to the nephrologist and he says the numbers are consistent with my chronic kidney disease. I have written to the renal dietician and told her everything I eat and take and am asking if there is anything I am doing wrong, I hope so that I can change it cause otherwise it just means my kidneys are getting worse and that makes me afraid and sad too.

Cause I am trying soooooooo hard to do the right thing, exercise, lose weight, get support all of it.
I have fallen in love with SparkPeople and some of the generous and kind folks on here, and I go to in person meetings for support to and that helps alot, I am going to a workshop in the afternoon tomorrow and will connect there also.

Course I will begin my day at the gym in the pool and get in at least 90 minutes of continuous exercise. I will keep doing all I can to battle this, I am a warrior. One with a little tear tonight.

(((((((((((((Jilly)))))))))))) emoticon I am so very sorry to hear that your labs weren't great. And I'm sorry that you are sad and fearful - a natural response to what you are going through. During this challenging time, try to stay focused on all the good in your life. And with each thing that happens or does not happen, embrace it and tell yourself - it's just part of the journey. And anytime you need it, come here - to SP - and get all filled up with the good stuff. emoticon

emoticon Keep on keepin' on. Some things are beyond our control, but for sure you are in a better state by taking care of yourself than if you had not changed your lifestyle or started sparking.

Is this dietician someone you have been seeing all along? DOes she support Paleo? Because if she is a conventional dietician she may blame all of this on that. I hope not, but it is common for them to insist on whole grains and all types of things that we don't really need.

Sorry to hear of your problems. It can be very scary when we don't know or understand what is going on. It always makes it worse. But you are attempting to get help from professionals and that is great because they will be able to help you.

Tears are alright. It's how we let off some of the stress we are carrying and it's always good to destress. It has taken me years to figure that one out and I just read a SP article the other day on destressing. I think if you go to the Articles tab and then type Destressing in the search engine, it will give you some clues on where to find it.

I wish you the best and hope the dietician can help you find better choices or let you know you are doing the right thing. That helps, too. And sometimes, it takes awhile for our systems to figure out that they are getting what they finally need and to just relax and get well with it.
