It seems I have strained my oblique muscle

It seems I have strained my oblique muscle on my right side and that is what is causing the discomfort not my gallbladder. So I have been restricted in my exercise routine for now because of it. But I got the the "green light" to go a head with my plan on training for my first 5K. emoticon

    Thanks everyone. Well I had a great walk yesterday, did the whole walk and some more with no problem with my dog. But today was a struggle. I think part of it was it felt a lot warmer today. We did about the same walk as yesterday, but it was taking us longer and we were both dragging towards the end of the walk. And towards the end of the walk my back and side was feeling it. It felt like every step was jarring my right side and my back ached a little too. I was carrying a little nap sack back pack like bag with a bottle of water for me, and a bottle type water dish for my dog too, and my cell phone, and ID, and a plastic bag just in case she decided to relieve herself on someone lawn. I thought that maybe the bag was bothering me, so I put it just on my left shoulder to finish the walk and that seemed to help. I got almost home and had to seat down for a breather on a cement wall in front of a church on the corner of the street I live on. And while I was resting I decided to give my dog some water and have some myself. All the other times I did this walk I never had to stop for water or any other reason, but I really felt the need to stop this time. So I hope the next walk will go more smoothly.

    See you did the correct thing by going to the doctor's to check out your pain. Glad it isn't your gallbladder! You will be healed in no time provided you follow doctor's orders.

    thanks Kayde, I am still training for the 5K, I walked it today with my dog, and then walked some more with her too and walked a lot doing errands and housework too. I am just not doing the strength training like push up and such or using weights.

    Thanks, I think now that I know what it is and what can trigger it I can be more careful of the movements I make with my arms and torso it should get better. And I can still exercise and train for the 5K.

    Thanks all! I got worried that it might be my gallbladder or liver or some thing serious, but doesn't look that way. Just have to take it easy a little longer to get it to go away.
