That has Nightshades too?

Friday, July 12, 2013

I've been doing better without dairy and nightshades. But I still have a bit of residual pain that I can't pinpoint the source of. Then today I was tooling around on some allergy websites and someone mentioned not being able to eat mayonnaise or mustard because of their nightshade allergy. What? I thought those were ok. Turns out that some mayos (not all) include potato starch. Grrr. And those nameless "spices" in mustard usually include paprika. Someone else told me that there is dairy in McDonald's french fries. Not that that matters since I can't have the actual potatoes in McDonald's french fries. But it just goes to show you that hidden ingredients are everywhere.

Tonight I am making a recipe someone linked me to for a Tomato Free Marinara. http://www.adventuresofagluten

-free-marinara-sauce/ I really hope that I like it. I'll let you know my review.

Wow, didn't realize you had so many allergies to foods. I can only say that it must be very frustrating to eat something, then have problems due to some hidden ingredient you shouldn't have eaten.

    Yikes!

Well, I've heard rave reviews about paleo mayonnaise that you make yourself. I don't like to cook much, so I've not made it, but I might try this one. You can also make "baconnaise" which my DH would probably be wild about!
