I made it out for my lunch time walk, 3.7 miles. I went a little too late. By the time I got out there it was already 76 degrees. On my second lap, some people crossed the street and started walking in front of me, but they weren't walking fast enough and I couldn't get around them without walking in the street. It was a lot of them so, I started jogging and said excuse me. People get out of the way when you are jogging. I had to jog the length of the block to make it look good and when I turned the corner I started walking again. I also had on the wrong shirt. I had a heavy T-shirt with a high neck. I knew it was wrong when I put it on this morning, but I meant to walk before the sun came out. Anyway, the bottom of my sleeves, my back, and the top of my shirt, not too mention my hair, which I had just washed last night, was soaking wet. I sit by myself at work so I pulled some of the water off my hair with a paper towel and put a few rollers in it until it dried. I also put paper towels around my neck and rolled my sleeves up, they are a little past my elbows. It didn't take long for my hair and sleeves to dry.
My husband wasn't able to put the grass down yesterday. He had a pain from his neck to his shoulder. I was going to go to Bible study but he seemed to be upset that I was leaving him while he was in pain. So I stayed home and took that opportunity to wash my hair. My husband asked me to turn the TV on for him and he sat in his recliner to watch his favorite news show. He didn't see any of it. He was out the minute he relaxed back in that chair. And of course I was thinking: I stayed home for this? So he is not feeling well, and he tells me he wants to mow the grass Saturday morning, if he is feeling better. I know he was asking me to mow it, but I didn't say anything. But of course I will do it. That will be my morning exercise. Today we have to stop at a few stores to get supplies for the party. I have no idea what we need because my sister in law hasn't said what the menu will be. We may get some more hot sausage, hot dog buns, and chips and call it a day.
This week the scale has been ugly to me. On Monday I went up to 299, but by Wednesday, I was 298. Then on Thursday the scale went back to 297.4. I was really thrilled with that. But last night I did some late night snacking. I thought for sure the scale would go back up. It didn't. It went down. I was 297.1. I told my husband about this and how I was sure I had messed up with the late night snacking and how horribly slow this weight loss journey is and he said, when we start walking again the weight will roll off. I said I hope so!
