Here in the Queendom, we have latterly been focused on our new current and future life, sort of a once and future queen type saga. emoticon

Everything and anything we are doing these days is, to be honest, very selfish and introverted and for our own wee benefit! emoticon This is not very nice, we guess, but for the most part, t'is truth!

Well, maybe that is putting it a little high, saying that our self focus is TRUTH, maybe it is just somewhat true, in small letters.

Hmmm. emoticon

But anyway, to share with the bloggety blog, WE (royal WE) have been a benefit to our royal self here for a few years in doing better overcoming our lifelong aversion to the metric system. emoticon

We think it hath something to do with the way we were educated in good old public school USA, this aversion. emoticon

T'was a very GOOD public school, not arguing that BUT they NEVER taught us the metric system way back then when the queen was a wee princess. (Long, long ago in a land far away.) So we didn't know (or if we knew, we refused to recognize it) the metric system's existence for a LONG time, at least until we went to college (the first time) really.

But then life went on as it tends to do. We learned a little bit of the metric system but we didn't like it much 'cause ... well, maybe jingoistic patriotism? Something. Just didn't see the need because we still believed the English system was what our country did (it wasn't, really, but we thought so) and didn't see a need to change that, even if we traveled and lived in some glorious other land somewhere ... BECAUSE ... well, we didn't really see all that much need to weigh or measure things anyhow, so ounces, cups, etc., was okay with us. We needed nothing else and continued in our avoidance tactics.

BUT, in recent years, our math inclined brain sort of accepted the metric system as a cooking and dieting aid that is WAY more accurate in recipes and food portioning, especially weighing things in grams. We got a digital food scale. We used it a LONG time. emoticon We aged. The food scale aged.

To make a long story short (too late). We just noticed a while ago that our digital scale is old and dingy.

SO we have celebrated today, OUR 97TH DAY IN THE 120S, by ordering a BRAND NEW SNAZZY FOOD DIGITAL SCALE! Top o' the line, sleek & silver, gleaming and lovely. It will arrive tomorrow!

This may seem a boring topic for a blog post, but anyway, we here in our remote palace are PUMPED about our forthcoming new acquisition !

More news? THERE. ISN'T. ANY.

Transmission. Ends. Film at 11.

Life. Is. Good. (As Somebody Wise We Once Knew once said.) S'all we got.

A new scale for a great "place" to be with your health. I totally agree that it's something to be excited about. :)
