Maryland and Washington D.C = RUDE PEOPLE

Friday, July 12, 2013

We made it to Maryland, and lets say drivers are so rude here. If you stop to let someone move over into your lane the person(s) behind you lay on the horn, and yell not so nice things. D.C. is so much WORSE!!! The explorer was smoking from tire put on four ways and so I put four ways on for the car too (2 vehicles cause 7n people) proceeded to get out of the road, apparently not moving fast enough cause people were honking, yelling and swearing. Followed by one ***** man rolled down his window and spit on my daughter through her window! These states are disgusting! If I lived here I would be ashamed and would tell no one! We wont mention the filth either! If all goes well we will be back on road soon and if I don't ever come back to either of these 2 states it will still be to soon!!!!!!!!!

Hope things are on an upswing for you. Sorry you're having traffic and people issues - never fun - but I tend to agree that many of the rude folks you're coming across are probably tourists from other places (even other countries) who are lost, tired, feeling unsure of where they are and running out of patience. I also agree that common courtesies and manners seem to be in shorter and shorter supply these days. keep smiling - find things of wonder and astonishment and fascination. They are all over the place if you pay attention! emoticon

Depends where in MD you are from. hubby is from MD and traffic is not bad at all

the closer you are to the District of Columbia (not a state) the more problems you are going to have esepcially during the summer when the amount of visitors is at it's peak. those honking you most like are driving rental cars and are visiting also and just as frustrated as you

If you truly want horrilbe, HORRIBLE , nasty traffic go to Houston . On a Sunday night you can find the interstate backed up for hours . we have watched them hit one another, drive off, and the car which was just hit, hits the car that hit it.

So sorry you had such a nasty rude experience! Honestly it's not indicative of everyone although I have to admit, it feels like it! I've driven in states from coast to coast, Canada to the gulf and have encountered rude people everywhere. I think it's not so much regional or area mentality as it is a lack of courtesy, tolerance and politness that is endemic in society that places less and less value on, well, values! Hopefully you'll be able to get your vehicle fixed and are able to continue your journey soon!
