Coffee

Has anyone tried to give up coffee? It's not the coffee that I think is fattening but the cream and sugar can't be good. I like to use the food tracker to give me good ideas what to eat and there is never coffeemate on the list. So At least for the next week I am going to try to find alternatives, like iced tea... I am hoping that I have enough energy to make it through.

    I accidentally put decaf in the decorative canister and we used decaf for a month before we realized it.. So I just have one cup in the morning and if it is decaf, it is ok.

    I gave it up for ten days and now I never drink more then 1 cup per day but I have the creamer and sugar weakness as well

    My Daughter enjoys Almond Milk. We make our own Sun Tea, and I use Stevia in place of Sugar.

    I'd agree with what Kricket said. You don't have to give up coffee if you particularly like it. Her method is a good one. Another might be to make a coffee drink by using skim milk and a sugar-free coffee syrup for sweetness and flavor, or may mixing coffee with sugar free cocoa, lite choc. syrup, etc. Lots of ways to do it. Of course, tea is really good, too...hot or iced (my favorite) and I've read that tea is VERY good for us for a variety of reasons.

    You'll find you way.

    Try changing to 1% milk in your coffee and decrease the sugar gradually until you don't need/like it any more. I drink maybe one cup of coffee a day with only 1% milk. I can drink it black but for some reason seem to migrage back to the milk, but once I got used to milk instead of cream, I got so I cannot handle cream in my coffee. I prefer black to cream. As for sugar, I have never been a person who puts sugar in their coffee but weaned my husband off from 3 sugar to none. Now he does not like the taste of sweetened coffee. It is really a matter of what you are used to and what you get used to.

    Be careful with things like iced tea as most of them are sweetened as well, unless you make your own unsweetened. Good luck with your journey!
