Turning a corner!

Erin's throat is finally getting better. It looks like she will avoid surgery for now. Which is good, since she is getting on a plane on Thursday.

Her dad had serious problems with strep and tonsils, but finally got over it without surgery. It's going to make it tough to talk her into getting surgery.

I had chronic strep as a child, teenager and young adult. I finally had my tonsils removed in my 20's. It was the WORST surgery ever, but I can say I rarely have any throat problems these days. Its great if she's able to avoid the surgery though, because it is NASTY.

Gas she is improving. I have heard that adults getting their tonsils removed is pretty challenging. Glad she is able to avoid it for now at least!

When I was in my late teens, I got tonsillitis every six months. Fortunately, I never got strep. I've had tonsillitis a few times as an adult, but still only had strep once.

I used to gargle with whiskey to reduce the pain and help bring down the swelling. I don't know how effective it was. Perhaps more research is required.
