The last 4 weeks have been awesome for me! I've been taking advantage of as many things as I can from SparkPeople. I've been using the website religiously, I signed up for the free week of SparkCoach, I'm listening to SparkPeople radio, and I'm reading the book "The Spark". Yes, it may be a little overkill, but for now it's working for me!
I'm not tracking my calories every day, but fairly frequently. I've committed to exercising at least every other day, but I often end up doing something every day. I've decided not to give up ANY foods. Over the past month, I've eaten nacho chips, chocolate chip cookies, carrot cake, bread pudding, etc. But I've had reasonable portions, and tried to alter the rest of my day to make up for the extra calories. And guess what? I've lost 9 POUNDS!!
This week I'm focussing on drinking 8 glasses of water a day, because I know I'm not drinking enough (especially considering I've been working out).
I've added this quote to my signature: "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." This is something I really struggle with, in all aspects of my life. Knowing I can't do something perfectly sometimes keeps me from doing anything at all. I think things like:
"I've eaten chocolate and blown my diet, so I might as well skip my workout."
"I don't have enough time to clean my whole entire house, so I might as well not bother vacuuming the living room."
I've been working on praising myself for any small positive steps that I make, and it seems to help.
I've decided to join an intense 8 week bootcamp at the end of August, so I have just over 6 weeks to try and build up my fitness/endurance so that I won't die during class. LOL.
Keep sparking everyone!
