Life is...

Friday, July 12, 2013

emoticon emoticon emoticon to all who posted their advice on my blog yesterday! I have found a few articles/links on self-esteem that I sent to her facebook account and I asked her to read them before we sit down to discuss the hair dying.

Basically - I know it's just hair, but I'm not simply going to 'give in' either without laying a few rules and make sure she knows she has to earn it by doing her chores (which she has been avoiding 'because it's summer').

Life is... so many things as the poster above denotes... but the important thing I take from it is that no matter the 'negative' in life there's always an opposite positive that we can look to. My focus is on making things better in all ways - for my daughter, for me, for my family (my oldest daughter too).

It's been a rough road this year, but I'm looking forward to all the great possibilities that await us. The issues are not gone - but my outlook is going to stay strong and positive and I'm going to handle things as they come. I'm going to live in the 'present' as much as I can so I can savor the NOW moments.

The friend that I have been seeing is now off from his work but the insane long hours he works (over 80 hours per week) have caught up to him. He has felt extremely drained of all energy since he finished on Sunday and he saw the doctor and was prescribed muscle relaxants (because he's not the kind of guy who can relax easily lol) and was told to avoid all physical activity/strain and rest. We were supposed to see each other this week but now we won't touch base until Sunday. I really like this man but I am beginning to wonder about his interest in me. I am working hard to practice the NOW moments with this and not overthink.

Instead of sulking, I contacted another friend I have - who I had not seen since November and he came to spend a few hours with me last night. It was really nice. I normally don't see more than one man at a time, but since I'm not committed - I figure this is what is called 'dating' kind of... I enjoyed his company and he enjoyed mine.

My daughter is back today and this weekend I have plans to get together with SP friend CHEFKATLEANER for a BBQ and swim on Saturday. Other than that - I'm going to do my best to stay the course to maybe see more movement on my ticker by Wed next week as I am striving to reach 150Ville by July 31st - my 7 year SP Anniversary!

So yup - LIFE IS... What we make it my friends!! I'm going to make the best of each and every moment. I hope you do too! Happy Friday!

I am so glad for you Helene for seeing that there is a positive for all negatives and you will choose the positive road! I believe in the positive road too and try to always walk that one. When I get lost along the way, I always pray that God help me and show me the right and positive route!

I can't believe that you are almost celebrating your 7th Anniversary with SP!!! Wow!!!

Smart move on not sulking and expanding your social circles. That only seeing one man when not committed just limits the men you have a chance at getting to know and sort theough while you're still young.

I had a positive mom, she was a Pollyanna and while I wouldn't actually take advice form her, I always appreciated the optimism she had although I think it came from being a stay home mom with a husband with a professional job.

Having a mom stay positive is a wonderful thing to have as a daughter.

An early congratulations for your Sparkversary! Awesome!

As for the guy ... honestly, I wouldn't view it as lack of interest. 80 hours a week is 11 hours a day. And if you're doing it in the 5 days, that's 16 hours a day! The other 8, you're supposed to be sleeping! The better question would be: "Is a man with this type of work schedule the type of man for me?" Do you want to be missing him 80 hours of the week?

emoticon and enjoy your celebratory BBQ!

Great blog. Such wonderful reminders. I over think and stress more than I should. I should learn to live more in the moment and enjoy.
