OBEDIENCE IN PRAYER
Talking to God and having a relationship with Him is the most important thing we can do while we are here on earth. Being obedient to God in prayer requires we diligently talk to Him every day. He desires to hear our prayers and to answer them. Jesus took time to pray. He cried out to God and trusted God to help Him. He knew His prayers would be heard because of His obedience reverence to God.
Hebrews 5:7 “While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we come to You today in prayer. We cry out to You. You are all we need. We have problems and situations that are, at times, overwhelming. We have things in our lives which we don’t know how we are going to get through them. However, we know when we come to You and obey You by praying and talking with You, You will give us peace and rescue us. We are here now, Lord, to pray to You, to obey You and to honor Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer is something we rarely see in public but God still knows our private prayers. No one can take that away. Take time to privately pray to God today.
Obedience to God through prayer is powerful. Prayer can make bad things good and good things even better.
Taking time to pray is letting God know you have faith in Him and that you know He is near.
It isn’t important that others see us pray. Our prayers are not to impress others but to humble ourselves before God.
Jesus was God’s son, yet He still took time to pray.
Luke 5:16 “But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer.” (NLT)
