The following does not contradict information shared in “Tidbit #4”, concerning drinking water at a certain time of day maximizing its effectiveness on the body: i.e. One (1) glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion.

Still, an experiment contradicts the theory that drinking water before a meal will help one feel fuller &, thus, help one eat less & drop pounds.

A MRI body scan revealed that, when one drinks water, the stomach stretches & signals the brain that it is full. However, the water passes straight through the stomach & does not stretch the stomach for long; thus, the full feeling does not last for very long.

The MRI body scan, also, revealed that when the stomach is stretched with solid foods, it takes time to break that food down &, thus, gives one a fuller feeling for a longer period.

That is not where the information ends, because there is another fascinating theory that water can aid in weight loss.

It is this gal’s bedtime & I am sleepy emoticon, don’t you know? emoticon So in an effort to keep my “Tidbit” short, I will share the theory about how water can fill one up in my next Tidbit Blog.

May our Creator God bless us all with cold clear water to enjoy!

I have a 23 ounce bottle that holds just about 3 cups of water. I fill it every morning and try to have a full bottle before 11 a.m. Then I fill it again and try to have it empty by3 p.m. Then I fill it and finish it by 8 p.m. Most days I have to refill before 6 p.m. and so it will go all summer.

I drink less during the winter, but this fall I will try to have more tea to compensate.

I haven't noticed that I feel fuller at meal times. I'm just not as hungry. Maybe the two sensations are the same. emoticon

I believe it to be a super idea, Bear, not to immediately put food into one's system at the first signs of hunger coming on. Waiting to satisfy that urge is important.

emoticon for pointing out that fact.

God bless!

I have a large glass that I drink from before every meal, to take my meds for one but also to help with the full feeling. I do tend to drink the whole thing down in one go to get the most fullness feeling from this method of weight loss.

I find the biggest part of the trick....not to break and eat as soon as the "fullness" goes away. I wait until my scheduled snack time arrives to have a carrot or a SMALL piece of fruit.

This is the only way I find it really truly works for a diabetic to actually lose weight and keep it off.

thanks Ima
God Bless!

You are so very welcomed, Steve!

Even with this information, this gal still believes that drinking a glass of water before a meal benefits in filling the stomach - to the point that one indulges in less food intake.

I guess it all depends on how many minutes before eating that the water is taken in. emoticon

God bless!
