T minus 2 days: Whole 30

Thursday, July 11, 2013

Whole 30 plans are set to take off on Saturday! Okay, not completely planned out but good enough to just take the leap! emoticon

So I think I mentioned how I want to keep up my blog through the 30 days. We all know that cravings come and go so one of the things I will be doing to help get through those is to write in my blog.

I have no plans right now to track my food, and a Paleo lifestyle isn't really about tracking it's more about awareness. I mean obviously I will probably blog about what I aat just not quantity as it is all going to be completely healthy. One thing I will definitely track is my water intake. emoticon

Some things that I plan to include in my blog daily:

emoticon Motivational Quote/Photo

emoticon My Exercise/Activities for the Day

emoticon New Recipes (whenever I try something new)

emoticon Feelings on food-cravings, favorite freggies, etc

emoticon How I notice a Paleo/whole 30 lifestyle changes perspective of thnigs- for example eating out, family gatherings, etc--sort of like an overcoming obstacles sort of thing

emoticon Rose/Thorn- One great thing and one not so great thing that happened for the day

emoticon QOTD or emoticon thought for the day or emoticon QOYBAD

emoticon Probably a daily weigh in- I hear it's bad but it helps me stay on track better

Feel free to ask me anything, I hear people are curious to know how I will accomplish this and I get questions all the time about it!

Loooove Whole 30... live Paleo everyday.. it's literally changed my life.. I do track my food during my weight loss journey but once I reach maintenance I will eat Paleo intuitively.. and I'm learning all sorts of things about my body.. I also weigh daily (and wrote a blog about it May 12th in a blog called "Why Weighing Every Day Works for Me".. so I say WEIGH.. and plot and graph your weights.. you will learn alot about your body.. and remember.. it's just another tool to measure progress, it's not THE tool..

    You've got a super plan!!!

Excited for you to head into the Paleo lifestyle. As FITNHEATHYKAL said is your hubby on board? That will make a huge difference. My DH is not on board with a completely paleo diet so I have removed sugar, wheat and caffeine from my diet. Most of those things are still in my families diet but I hope they will one day join me.

A note on not tracking, I highly suggest some sort of measuring or tracking of some sort. Even though the food is healthy- too much is still too much. My sister eats completely Paleo and had great success in the beginning when she ate it in the Zone Diet portions. Lately she is still eating paleo but not worrying about portions and she has gained all of the weight back.

I hope you have great success!!

Look forward to reading about your Whole30. I did one back in December; wasn't perfect but it was eye-opening.

Is your husband doing it with you or will you have to prepare two different meal plans? For me, it was a HUGE plus that my family was on board and did it with me right down to not eating pasta (when I offered to cook it for them to go with dishes that would normally have pasta rather than spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles). I think that they did have bread for two meals during one of the two months and they both had desserts at night freely but they had what I did and made for breakfast/lunch/dinner when we were together and we eat meals together when we are home together. The teenager even prefers Paleo Pancakes now!

I have some AMAZING recipes. Not all are Whole30 though since this next month is going to be even stricter than a normal Paleo diet.

I can't wait to hear all about it! You've got this! emoticon
