Rain, Rain, Go Away & Happy Birthday to Maeryn
Thursday, July 11, 2013
I have been singing that song now for several days. Actually, yesterday it didn't rain but the minute I set foot on the deck at the pool the thunder started. A neighbor and I decided to "wait it out" . The thirty minutes was almost up meaning we could go in the pool when not only was there thunder but immediately before there was a huge flash of lightening very close. POOL CLOSED! We packed up and headed for home. Within a half an hour the clouds had dissipated and there was no sound of thunder or sign of lightening.
Ah, you say, I could go back! Not really since I had changed out of my bathing suit, showered and gotten ready for celebrating my grandgirl's bigh fifth birthday, puppy dog cake, friendly's for dinner and ice cream and all! OK, tomorrow I will get the exercise in!
Tomorrow is now today and guess what? That is right, no exercise. This morning I had to pick up some things at the grocery then run to a friend's house to pick up and pay for my ticket for the Jimmy Buffett concert Saturday, and then there would be time for the pool.
Foiled again. While on the way to the friend's the rain started, no not just rain, torrential rain with all the accompaniments f thunder and lightening and by the time I got home the temperature had dropped 15 or more degrees.
Now, please Mother Nature, could we have a nice morning for my grandgirl's birthday pool party and a nice night for the Buffett concert? Hey, if you want it to rain let it rain between 12 and 4 Saturday! Thank you very much Mother Nature!
God, I am thankful for the rain as the plants need it, the animals need the water, and it cleanses the air. it is your gift to the earth. Sometimes we find it inconvenient and disrupting to our earthly plans. Forgive us for not thanking you and for complaining. And as I ask that I also ask for a nice morning Saturday for the 5 yr olds party. if the show goes on for the Buffett concert then I can wear a rain poncho and enjoy the mucsi and be thankful that I have a ticket!
