No, I didn't really just spend a week in a chocolate store, but it seemed as tough! Actually, I spent a week at my mother-in-law's. I've blogged about it before, but she keeps a LOT of junk food! I'm talking about bowls of chocolate sitting out! Hershey kisses, chocolate covered almonds, tiny candy bars, chocolate clusters. Oh my!!!
Besides the chocolate there are all kinds of baked goods - cookies, sweet breads, cake, donuts - which don't tempt me as much since I just tell myself they aren't very good. (How do I trick myself? I truly don't know!) And, almost everyone in the family eats these for BREAKFAST! Yes, even the cookies! Do you know how hard it is to eat right in this environment?
And then there are the chips. Monsters sized bags of every kind of chip you can imagine. And they get brought out for lunch, afternoon snack, dinner & late night snacks!
How did I handle it? Well, I asked her to buy some of my favorite snacks & lots of veggies & fruit. That really helped! But, usually by evening I just couldn't stand it and I'd dig in. Lots of chocolate and, one night, chips! Oh, and the chips with many meals. Ugh!
I came back weighing probably 2 pounds heavier. I was afraid to weigh in! But, today, after being home 4 days, I had a weigh-in... and I'm back to my pre-vacation weight! (We also spent 3 days in Vegas). WooHoo!!! I'm so excited!
Now, I just have 3.5 pounds to lose and I'll be back at my lowest weight for the past 12 months!!! Yes!!! Here we go!!
