Darn Scale!

Thursday, July 11, 2013

I really HATE my scale! For months, I have been the same weight - then the batteries went out in it. Put new ones in - and I have gained 10 pounds! Went to my neighbors house to check it out - and sure enough...10 pounds! DARN IT ALL!

I just bought my first NEW scale in over 12 years. Turns out the old dial scale didn't fare as well as we thought through our twin toddler years (the kids used it as a spring-board). New digital scale is beautiful, easy to clean and is very consistent (and measures to the oz).
Of course, Bob could be right. Batteries may be heavier than the last set emoticon

How do you feel and how do your clothes feel on you? Those are very important issues to me. The scale can be a slow learner in that it doesn't know the difference between healthy weight and unhealthy weight. Feel better look good and the weight will drop, unless you are where you really need to be, according to you body.

emoticon My scale and I only JUST returned to speaking terms with each other. We had a long chat which included some gentle nudging on my part and now we seem to be getting along just fine....for the most part. I have agreed not to step on it every day and, at my weigh in, it agrees not to send me into fits of frustration on most weeks. It's a relationship in progress just like any other.

What a bummer! I have been stuck on one weight for awhile but unfortunately I can't blame my scale or the batteries! emoticon

I understand the feeling. It is not fair we let the scale dictate our mood. My scale said i gained 2 lbs this week and I have no clue how since I have been so good lately..

I have two scales and they both do funky things but I was encouraged when I went to the Dr and found I had really been losing a pound a week for the past 4 months just as I thought. Maybe you should buy a new scale and me too!
