A successful day

Thursday, July 11, 2013

I didn't WANT to get out of bed this morning... but I did. I didn't WANT to walk the dog for an hour... but I did. I didn't WANT to go for a run... but I did that too. So despite my lack of motivation it was a successful day. Now I am rewarding myself by baking some muffins, which I will eat some of fresh out of the oven. Yum! After I am done baking I will stuff my pockets with dog treats and bribe the dog into taking another walk. Cooper did better today with the walking, though I am still having to bribe him he is choosing to go farther.

I stretched my run to 2.4 miles today. Ran it in 20 minutes, so I was able to maintain my pace despite hills and traffic. Saturday when I go out I will go a little farther. I WILL run my 3.2 mile loop without taking a walking break sometime in the next two weeks. I might run again tomorrow, though I am trying to stick to my schedule of every other day. (Then again might go kayaking since that got canceled today.)

Talked to my eldest niece this evening, and she asked me to do a road trip with her to DC in August. That would make August a very busy month as I also have a 5k in Erie and signed up to do safety boats for a charity swim in Ithaca. I can do it all... I will just need a vacation from obligations by the end of the month.

You WILL run that 3.2 mile loop...without taking a walking break...but do take a day off in between - don't want to push so hard up front in your training that you sideline yourself. Muffins sound yummmy - can't be having any of that round here cause I Have Not earned it yet today!

I learned another lesson in discipline from you- even though you didn't WANT to you got it done any way, today my WON'T won more of the battles and I didn't accomplish nearly as much. Even Cooper kicked my butt. Tomorrow is another day

Sounds like Cooper is getting more comfortable with his walks. Hopefully soon he will be back to his normal self again.
