I dont wanna be a 40 year old success story

Thursday, July 11, 2013

Hey I LOVE a success story! I just dont want be the cliche 40 year old one. Like.... I hit 40 and realize I am fat, then get super fit, then do a fitness competition..yeah that one. Nope dont wanna be it. OK OK realize I have a few years before I am 40.
I just get annoyed when people to say "oh you have 3 kids... you look great for having 3 kids" Oh I hate that! Like what if I said I had zero children? Would I still look great then missy??? That's what I want to reply, but dont. I nod and say thanks.
I admire people who have been fit their ENTIRE lives even during and after pregnancy's! Now they are my favorite kinda success stories!
I start a real crossfit gym tomorrow! Wowsa! Im scared! I love the shape of those women!!!
of course before pictures are in order!

Dont get me wrong ladies, I love any person who gets out there and gets fit and lives the life meant for them!!! I have gained and lost so many times and even though I may never have been obese, I have totally been over weight.
Because in reality I look like this..no color change... nadda, Jus real and chunky

I am starting to live in a reality where I can be fit years before I'm 40

I am the one approaching 46 in August, no kids and still fat, stronger, but FAT! I had one of those moments yesterday where I was feeling better than usual in the skin, allowed myself to sport some lycra/spandex without the big top to cover it up. Well, as we are leaving work to hit the hike, people are all "Kristin, lookin' good, looking strong" - the stuff that friends say because they see past the blubber. Had an awesome hike, floating on air and BAM, the friend takes the pic because she thinks I "look beautiful" at that moment. OMG! Awful. Spirit sucking. I fire off a bunch of things like, what the hell were they talking about? "'lookin' good' - lookin' good compared to what?" I want more than acceptable for my age. I am sick and tired of the roller coaster and am embarrassed by it. I should be. Sorry for the vent. Need to blog. :)

Excited to hear about the CrossFit. I secretly want to try it. Have an awesome, butt-kicking time.

you're doing awesome. I too am in awe of people who are fit their whole lives.

Be careful at Crossfit - it really works, but you need to make sure you pay a TON of attention to form, particularly when you start doing the routines which require speed lifting (dead lifts and squats for speed are dangerous). Just be cautious to not try for the time at the expense of the quality of the lift.
