Gob: Starry night

Thursday, July 11, 2013

Last night, sleeping with the windows open, it got windy sometime during the night (2 or 3 in the morning). So I got up to close the window part way so stuff didn't blow around. I checked the window in the living room (west facing window) and saw a meteor. I checked the kitchen windows (north facing) and the northern lights were out. Spectacular! But I was tired and went back to bed.

I used to be able to see the Northern Lights when we lived in Great Falls years ago. I've never seen them in Billings. They are so amazing! What a treat.

Oh I loved seeing the Northern Lights when I lived in NNY. I used to wake up in the middle of the night go out to the kitchen window to see if they were there, if they were I would jump into my car and drive about two miles away to where I had a better vantage point. Nighttime skies are wonderful!
