Counting down to vacation!

Thursday, July 11, 2013

My dear man and I leave in 5 days for our beautiful second home on the wonderful island of Anguilla, in the British West Indies (5 miles from Saint Martin). emoticon

We started island hopping in the Caribbean about 20 years ago (tried about 10 different places) but once we visited Anguilla we knew we found our special paradise- a small quiet island with little crime, wonderful friendly people, amazing food, both in upscale restaurants and roadside BBQ's, all of that plus spectacular beaches and weather.

After renting there for years we bought a 1/2 acre and built a 2 bedroom house for us to use and to rent out so we could afford it. emoticon

We are not wealthy people but my dh has always managed our money very carefully so we could swing it and it has worked out well for us.
Well, all good things must come to an end.
We miss traveling the world and need to sell Jasmine Villa before we get too old to get out there and do it!
In the meantime, it is still available to rent so please pass my website around if you know anyone who is thinking about a special vacation.
Anguilla (rhymes with vanilla) is an upscale island with very few hotels and few cheap ones.
Movie stars and rock stars are often spotted (I or friends have seen Harrison Ford/Callista Flockhart, Robin Williams, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffet, Madonna...)
Jasmine can be rented as one or two bedrooms.
It is fully air-conditioned and has a full gourmet kitchen.
It's perfect for 2 couples as one bedroom is in a separate guest house next to the small pool.
Not really suitable for young children.
Surrounded by a privacy wall.
We have a maid, a gardener/pool boy and an agent to for meet-and-greet, who is available 24 hours should any problem arise.

Here's the website and a few more pics- please share!

Come on in!

At one of our favorite lunch restaurants.

The front outside dining area- always shady and breezy.

The back dining area, adjacent to the pool with a distant ocean view.

Here I am waving to you!
