Counting my blessings...

Thursday, July 11, 2013

I had something happen recently that made me really count my blessings. I was going out for my walk with very little enthusiasm. My inner voice, you know, the lazy one was going hot and heavy trying to convince me that I really didn't want to do this today. As I was walking along and listening to her moan and groan I rounded a building that is an aquarium close to home. And came face-to-face with a woman in a wheelchair who had only one leg. That really shut her up immediately. It made me realize how incredibly blessed I am. I have two good legs that make me able to jump up and walk out the door any time I feel like it. And whenever I start feeling like whining I just remember her. I will not take this for granted again.

I'm glad that inner voice got a wake-up call.

Let's walk! emoticon

My mom and grandmother were both in wheelchairs and my grandma was blind. They were both handicapped for many years. Mom 19 and my grandma many more. Their attitude was great. Thanks for the reminder. I've been down in the dumps lately too. You are a blessing to me!! Seriously, you really a gift to me.

Sometimes we really need a slap in the face, don't we?
