Today is my birthday, the big 5-0.
My fitness goal for this summer is to stay on track with loosing and exercising and staying on the healthy eating. Been doing the best consistency wise since a couple years back when I first started SP. I was hoping to be below 240 when I weigh in tomorrow but ate way more calories than I should tonight so it will be close though Ive been pretty good this week and a lot of cardio.

Had fun with my 13 yr old son on a bikeride earlier today, he took me on some routes he takes with his friends, through neighborhoods and friends and it reminded me when i was 13 except I never did anything like that with my parents and was in the summer of becoming more of the rebellious teen. Im glad im close with my son.

For a treat for myself tonight I got a lite frappuccino with 2 shots of espresso from Starbucks.

My 16 yr old daughter is away in ME with her friends family so I miss her big time but we talked several times and will again tonight. just need to


I'm disappointed that my recent cardio and staying the course hasn't had me loosing weight as fast as a couple years ago but I keep telling myself to give it the summer.

My bones are achy from arthritis. And though the biking should be helping my knees I think the humidity is hurting them. that also is disappointing but still telling myself to keep going.

Trying the make a change in my job which is hard and trying to use my exercise to help with moving on. I still of course have my job. I just need to make more mula. and I really want a change so I am thinking my mantra "change is good for the brainge."

I am however happy with my recent consistency the past couple months and my cholesterol and glucose levels are good. I'm still in better health and shape than a few years ago and probably for a good part of my 40's.

So I'm going to try to keep celebrating my bday this month in little ways. We'll go out as a family on Sat. to our favorite Margaritas. Next week I get to see my fav band Furthur (members of grateful dead) not so far from my house. And I'm playing a lot of music this summer myself. My brother gave me a gift certificate to guitar center to help me get a cool boss looping pedal for my performing. (I perform concerts for kids). Haven't had a new piece of equipment in a long time.

And that is my big 5-0 update.

    Oh HECK! I'm late to the party! Congrats on your big year! Definitely a time to take stock in our life and nudge things even more toward what we want to accomplish...sounds like that's what you're doing!

Dead fan from way back too...especially those long, extended jams...that was what got me pointed in the direction of jazz way back in the day.

    Happy 50th birthday to the Night Rider. I didnt know you were so old, a whole 3 and 1/2 months ahead of me. Great to see you working out and getting in those active minutes with the kids. Enjoy your birthday and have a great time, now and the rest of the summer!
