That Bloody Scale

Well I am going to have to get on the scale again and I am afraid I will not have lost at least a few pounds........ I feel smaller, I look like I have lost weight, I got into a smaller bathing suit, but my brain is telling me I have not lost enough weight, enough would be 1-2 pounds for me!

Why is this bugging me so much? Because I have been eating too much fruit on the Paleo diet, I just re read I have to limit my fruit to 1 serving per day if weight loss is my goal, yikes! I know I have been eating many more servings than that........today I have had 4 servings (1cup) of watermelon!

So I am going to weigh the third week of this month, after July 21 cause I have to go for labs again that week. I want to see what my A1c is..... so I have a week and a half to cut out the fruit. This is going to hurt, I have loved falling in love with fruit again, and now I have to give it up. Sheesh! Oh well,,,,,,,,, I have lost 15 pounds in the first 50 days of paleo. But I would like to lose 50 before my trip next June, so I am going to have to buckle down and do more Paleo strict than I have been...... more veggies and less fruit and more lean protein, which is usually chicken and fish, tonight is fish and veggy stir fry. NO fruit! LOL!!!!

    I've been doing Atkins and I sooooo miss fruit! My mouth waters at the mere thought of an apple! So, I understand you pain! But. . . you are making awesome progress and I know without any doubt that you will meet your goal for next June. Regardless of what the scale says, be kind to yourself. You are eating so much better than you ever used to, right? So even if you overate watermelon - it's better than anything else you used to do. Just remember how far you have come and how much better you feel. That will take you far!!! Take care to take care of you . .. all of you. emoticon

  I eat more fruit too, and it is hard to give up. I think you should see about your progress and A1C before you panic on that. You could be doing just fine! emoticon

    You are doing a great job and are an encouragement to me. I don't believe we have to be perfect or strict. More on the healthy side is what I'm going for. Don't worry. Get your labs and then make any adjustments you think are needed. You may be surprised at just how much you have lost. Have faith and keep plugging along.

    You are doing great! On Paleo fruit is ok- a cup of watermelon is fine. It is true that limiting servings of fruit will speed up your weight loss, but if you have lost 15 pounds you are doing.g a truly awesome job. Fruits add a lot of vitamins and help you dehydrated in the summer. Some fruits are " better" to eat than others - check out the glycemic load and make your best choices. If you are feeling good and in a smaller size bathing suit, rejoice! You can laugh at the scale emoticon !
