16. To live without pain without taking prescription ibuprofen several times each day.

Last night, I happened into a live yoga class. I was so excited because I got to take one last year when I was training to run the half marathon. The next morning was the only day I was not in pain from running. I have been wanting to do yoga ever since, but am not faithful to it at home and have not had a chance to do a live class since then. But last night, I had my chance. There were many parts that were tough, and I even worked up a sweat! What was disappointing was that there were a couple times when I was flexible enough to bend further, but my abdominal fat was in the way. emoticon

My reason for today was originally going to be "so I can do yoga without my fat getting in the way," but then I asked myself, "but why do I want to do yoga?" I like the experience of yoga, but the biggest reason I want to do yoga is to reduce my pain. Losing weight would not only help with reducing abdominal fat so I could bend more freely, but also will reduce stress on my back and joints.

To help SPARK the fire I need to get back on track, I plan to post a new reason for 30 days reminding me why I want to live healthier and lose weight.

08. To be a positive influence on my diabetic husband.

06. So I can easily reach my goal of finishing the 2014 Fight for Air Climb in under 40 minutes.
05. Regular exercise clears my head and evens my moods.
04. I feel more in control of my life when I take care of myself.
03. I liked it better when I fit in L shirts instead of XL.
02. When I exercise regularly, I have more energy.
01. When my face is thinner, I have a prettier smile.

    I love your idea of posting a reason to lose weight every day for 30 days. I might even have to "borrow" that idea but I think I could do it for a lot longer than that. (I probably have more weight to lose than you do!)

Anyway -- your energy comes through loud & clear. You are SURE to succeed!

  Yoga is a great pain reliever. I try to do some yoga after my weight training routine to maintain flexibility and ease the pain I generally experience in my lower back. Good luck with your program and I hope you stay with the yoga program.
