I went to a natural path doctor a week ago and today I got my blood test results back. My thyroid medication that I have been taking for at least 22 years is not currently helping me. My blood work shows my T3 is low. My synthroid is controlling "brain signal" but no active hormone which continues to make my hypothyroid. My antibodies show I have Hashimoto's which I have heard of but was never diagnosed until today. The other issue I have is that triglycerides are elevated even though my cholesterol and HDL and LDL is OK. I am also low in iron. This explains a lot of why I have gained some weight as well as being tired a lot of the time. My doctor also told me to drink more water with electrolytes because even though I drink more that 64 ounces a day my counts say I am dehydrated. That was news to me so I am on a mission to get myself back on track and hopefully get these last 10 pounds off for good. I will be doing some research on Hashimoto's to further understand it. I trust my doctor. She has helped my husband so much after he had meningitis's last October. I will see how it goes in the next 8 weeks and then get updated again. Hope everyone has a great week!
