Tidbits from our house... (edited)

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Tornado/thunderstorm warnings in our area as well as flood warnings/flood warnings. There is already a lot of flooding in our area from the storm that blew in this morning. Many of the roads in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas are closed or impassible. It is much better now than it was during the morning rush hour. I think they received over two inches of heavy rain this morning in less than an hour. Many business and homes are flooded and people were rescued in boats, etc. Praying for all those affected by these storms in any way.

Hopefully all my friends and family remain safe during this crazy storm as it is hitting locally now. Jumping off to shut down my computer before it hits here.

We enjoyed a wonderful visit from my 18 year old grandson today. So glad that he stopped by as we don't see enough of him. He is still waiting to see what his new orders will be from the Marines.

Hope everyone had a super week ahead. ENJOY whatever life brings your way!!! Be sure to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you and give them a great big hug!!! We are never promised tomorrow and need to take advantage of every day!!!
Blessings, love and hugs,
Helen

ADDED: As a dear friend of mine (who lives about ten miles from us) posted on Facebook: "My heart aches for all of those folks who are dealing with flooding & storms north of Pittsburgh. That said, I selfishly hope it stays north of Pgh. I really don't want to deal with flooding again. 9 years since the last flood is not long enough, thanks, Mother Nature, but no thanks."

Helen, when I left for work yesterday morning, we had those same flooding rains, it took several u-turns for me to find a road that was passable. We are expecting them and t-storms again today.

Stay safe, my friend. Blessings.

Hope he is station somewhere here in the United States. It is much safer here than over seas. Sorry about the storms, thunder and all the flooding that You are having in your area.     We're supposed to get them tomorrow. Those dark clouds look very ominous. Glad you didn't get the flooding. This rain just never seems to end.

Stay safe and lets all hope we get another break from these storms. Too bad we couldn't send them to the folks that need all this rain.

Bless you and your family.

hugs....Mary Anne

So very sorry to hear of all this rain and flooding :( I hope you can remain safe and have enough provisions should you lose power.
That is wonderful to see your grandson! That is awesome of him to want to protect his country at such a young, tender age! Kudos to him! But oh my, does he provide more grey hairs to his poor relatives who will be worrying about his welfare should he be deployed to a hot spot..
Will be thinking of you and all those in this storm's path. Hopefully it will blow over fast without too much damage..

Stay safe in the storm. Glad you had a visit from your grandson. I guess I remember you saying he was a Marine, and forgot. Good luck wherever he is assigned. Hugs and prayers for all our soldiers and families. My DS is Army and is stationed in Alaska. Long way away from home!
