End of Month 1 BFFM Summer Challenge

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Official weigh-in and measurement was on Monday for week 4, but today marks the start of month 2 of my BFFM Summer Challenge, so thought I would update since I haven't in a while.

Starting Stats:
Weight: 198
Waist: 40 in
Hips: 47 in
Neck: 14.25 in

Body Fat %: 49
Fat Weight: 97 lbs
Lean Body Mass: 101 lbs

After 1 Month:
Weight: 190 (-8 lbs)
Waist: 35.5 in (-4.5 in)
Hips: 45.5 in (-1.5 in)
Neck: 14.25 in (0)

Body Fat %: 43 ( -6%)
Fat Weight: 83 lbs! (-14 lbs)
LBM: 109 lbs (+8 lbs)

So very happy with the first month overall! Can't wait to see where I end up at the end. My goal was to get to 40% body fat or lower, and I am on track to blow that away, so will have to adjust my goals as I go along. As for actual weight, my goal was to lose 2 pounds per week and so far am right on track.

This month I am upping the strength training going from full body workouts to a split routine. I am also adding in HIIT now that I have new shoes and my shin pain is disappearing. I have also adding jumping rope to my day. I work at a desk all day and instead of just getting up to stretch every hour, I am now adding in some jump rope. Did 1 minute every hour yesterday and couldn't believe how tough it was! I haven't jumped rope in a long time. It definitely gets the heart rate up. So working up to 5 minutes every hour, which will be an extra 40 minutes of activity by the end of the day and gets me out of the chair.

I am also trying to tighten up my nutrition. I have splurged quite a bit this month and having holiday and son's birthday in there didn't help. So tightening it up a bit, adding in more veggies and upping the protein a bit more.

More than anything, just need to keep positive and keep working toward my goals. I know I can do this now. I have always hoped I could lose the weight, but never really believed I could. I let my negative thoughts defeat me. I am now in a much better head space and the affirmations and daily goal setting has really helped change things around for me. So glad this challenge came into my life when it did!
