I started running yesterday for the first time in 2 years. Survived, but I think I've developed plantar fasciitis from wearing the wrong kind of shoes at work the last few months. I bought new running shoes ($$) and I'll go pick up some insoles later today. I'm using the Runkeeper app because I need the intervals to be brainless. Tell me when to walk and when to run, but don't make me think and run at the same time. My weight is still too terrible to mention.
I'm logging my food and trying to stay within my BMR. I'm exercising 1x/day for about 1hr walk/jogging. Next week I might start calorie cycling and doubling up my workouts to one in the am, and one in the pm, and add strength training. I don't want to end up with a case of delayed-onset muscle soreness and be sidelined for a week. I have to get a really serious head-start because once September returns it will be hard to keep up my exercise plan. I'm working on a 'plan' to alter my lifestyle so that I can go to the gym and eat properly at work (scheduled exercise, no excuses, a fixed meal-plan and a mini-fridge for my classroom so I eat at work).
