I am reading "YOU: The Owners Manual" by Michael Roizen, MD and Mehmet Oz, MD.
Interesting book! Here is a statement that I find to be right along with the Spark People way of thinking:
"If you make five-just five- adjustments to your life, you can have a dramatic effect on your life expectancy and the quality of your life. The five things are: controlling your blood pressure;avoiding cigarettes;exercising thirty minutes a day; controlling stress; and following an easy- to -love, healthy diet."
The way I see it, healthy diet and exercise will take care of at least two of the other things! Eat right and exercise and you will control stress and your blood pressure! And I guess that if you are leading a healthy lifestyle, you don't want to pollute your body with cigarettes either!
So what we are trying to do here to lose weight will lead us to a longer life too! Sounds like a deal to me!`I am already reaping some of the benefits in my life! I have more energy than before, I am enjoying the food I eat! I don't really" like" to exercise, but I like the fact that I am able to do more as I go along and it is helping me to feel better and lose weight! What more can you ask of a lifestyle! (I wish a healthy life gave you more money, but, oh well, We can't have everything!)
I am really glad I found Spark People and I think I will still be here even after I get to goal! Yea! Spark People!
