Oh Gallbladder, You Suck

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Well, it has to come out. I spoke to the surgeon, signed the consent form and was told which department Iíd be in. The only thing left to dispute is the date, and Iím awaiting the surgery scheduler who will be calling anytime now. Depending on how the surgery goes, Iíll be out of work for almost 2 weeks which means NO PAY. Iíve been given some options for some kind of income and will be looking into those as soon as possible. Either way, it wonít be half of what I make but it will at least be SOMETHING. I was told that my job will be secure and that all should be the same when I get back (whenever that may be). Iím doing my best not to be stressed, but find myself getting exhausted a lot easier lately. I have an audition coming up this Saturday, but Iím not sure if Iíll be able to get the part missing so much rehearsal. Iím just not sure. Iím a bit nervous, but Iíve got a great support system here on Spark and with my BRITT831. Iím in good hands.

I am sorry to hear this. My MIL had gall bladder surgery several years ago and it went very well with no problems since. I hope it will be the same for you. Best wishes and (((hugs))) emoticon emoticon emoticon Nancy

I'm so glad you're closer to getting this painful problem taken care of, MissB, and so glad, too, that others have given you the great suggestion of applying for disability those two weeks you can't work! That was so helpful... and I'm sure it will allay many of your fears. Let us know when the surgery will take place. Do you know if they'll be doing laparoscopic surgery - a few tiny incisions and some cameras involved? I understand recovery's so much easier - quicker, too - from that than it was the traditional gallbladder surgery.

You've been a real trouper here - in EVERY sense of that word! You're a strong lady :) emoticon

Apply for State Disability. Your doctor will need to fill out his/her part of the form. Some doctors charge to fill out the forms (it's worth it to get the benefits). If you need a form, private message me with your mailing address and I will send you one. xoxo
