Still Learning As I Go

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Now that it is summer, if I get up early enough, I can walk before it gets too hot. That gives me more energy than walking in the heat.

I can fill up on my summer fruit! I love the fruits of summer, cherries, plums, nectarines, watermelon, berries.

I am eating less sugar. It is a problem in my house, both DH and I have a sweet tooth. I am eating one piece of chocolate (small) a day. Then I stop.

I earn my computer game time. For every minute I work out, I get a minute to play computer games. I found I was getting addicted and not getting anything done around the house.

Instead of reaching for food, I will get out my beads, or ironing board.

I am limiting my time generally on the computer, so I can now get more done around the house. I am cleaning closets, pantry, cabinets, etc.

I have found some items to list on eBay and sell. That gives me a little extra money for my hobbies.

So, in retirement, you can stay busy and not turn into mush! The games help my brain and the time management helps all around!

Some really great ideas! I agree it is important to stay busy after retirement. It is too easy to let myself just sit at the computer or read. It helps to get outside for a couple of hours in the morning before the heat of the day. These hot days seem awfully long as we're sort of trapped in the house so I'm trying to use some of that time to get out and get errands done, etc.

Great ideas Linda. I am weaning myself off the computer too. I lose track of time when I'm on. I love earning your time! emoticon

Good on you for knowing where to scale down etc. I like that your time exercising is setting the time for games. You go, girl!

Thank you for the suggestion about earning time. I may have to use that to get my exercise in before I get involved with SP every day. emoticon
