Day 30: The Real ME and Forming a Habit

I cannot believe it is already Day 30 of my new healthy life. A whole month. I heard somewhere that a habit is formed after doing it consistently for 30 days. Do I dare believe that I have actually created a healthy habit in me? Why yes I do!

I would like to thank the academy and my family and friends. And of course SparkPeople!!! Without SparkPeople I would never have reached this milestone. Believe me, this is a milestone for me. All the other times I gave up and said there was no way I could live this way and alter my eating habits. But, look at me now!

Alright. Enough of that. My grandmother always used to say that self praise sucked. I agree if it is done often. But when someone sticks to a plan that is dedicated to hard work and self-control, I think some celebration is in order.

Maybe we fail because we fail to pat ourselves on the back for the small victories in our lives. I realize I only lost five pounds this month, but I feel stronger and I am getting closer to my Lord and Savior. He is making me into a new creation. I am his masterpiece. For that I am truly grateful.

So, do not let the scale or your waist line bring you down. Are you exercising more? Super! Are you eating healthier choices? Fantastic!! Do you feel better? Way to go!!! You are better off than Day One! Celebrate. The other changes will come in time if you form a healthy habit in your life.

So I hope that anyone who reads this will stand with me. Don't give up. It is not what the scale or the measuring tape says. It is your perseverance, your strength, your self-control that should be praised. If all of these things are becoming stronger, so are you!!!!!!

Stay strong and carry on! We can do this together.
