Praise God that Jesus is not only our High Priest, but was the prophet and one day will reign as King of Kings. (Prophet, Priest, and King-praise Jesus!

To me an apostle is a teacher of Christ. I have met some of these teachers and hope to follow in their steps.

And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelist, and some pastors and teachers. For the perfecting of the saint, for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ, until we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
Ephesian "4:11-13.
Apostle as " apostolos" means one who is sent forth.

THE QUALIFICATIONS OF AN APOSTLE

When one assembles all the relevant New Testament data, at least three qualifications emerge as prerequisite to one becoming an apostle in the official sense (Hayden, 1894, p. 33, expands these credentials to seven in number). First, an apostle had to have seen the Lord and been an eyewitness of Christ’s resurrection (Acts 1:22; 22:14; 1 Corinthians 9:1). Second, an apostle had to be specifically selected by the Lord or the Holy Spirit (Matthew 10:5; Mark 3:13-14; Luke 6:13; Acts 1:26; 9:15; 22:14-15,21; 26:16). Third, an apostle was invested with miraculous power to the extent that he could perform miracles. The power to perform miracles included the capability to confer the ability to work miracles to other individuals through the laying on of his hands (Mark 3:15; 16:17-20; Luke 9:1-2; John 14:12,26; 15:24-27; 16:13; Acts 2:43; 4:29-31,33; 5:12,15-16; 6:6; 8:14-18; 19:6; 2 Timothy 1:6; Romans 1:11; Hebrews 2:3-4). Jesus referred to His bestowal of miraculous capability upon the apostles when He promised they would be “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

An Apostle of Jesus is one who does everything that Jesus has done and more in this new, better and ever lasting covenant.

The name of Jesus says it all and is The name above all and any name on earth, in earth, below the earth, in heaven, in this age and in the age to come.

Jesus says and has it all.

the body of Jesus should now be functioning as Apostles.

Apostle is a missionary or preacher. God preaches to us through His Word. We are to listen and apply the Word.

According to the Bible dictionary: a person sent by another; a messenger; envoy. This word is once used as a descriptive designation of Jesus Christ, the Sent of the Father (Heb. 3:1; John 20:21).

These have been fascinating entries Editor and I am learning SO much.

I think the title apostle more appropriately fits a follower of Christ than God (Whom I usually think of as God the Father - the 1st Person of the Trinity).

I think the name apostle means someone who has met Jesus in person. Paul called himself an apostle because of the meeting on the road to Damascus, although he calls his birth (apostleship) abnormal.
I suppose there are people around that have met the Lord, only they and the Lord will know for sure.
There is a really cool church up in Redding California that has some music coming out of it that seems really amazing, you can check it out at www.christiantop500.com/jesus-cultu
