food journal analysis

After spending some serious time looking at my food journal, I've realized 3 things:
1. I am consistently not getting enough proteins
2. I am consistently not getting enough fiber
3. I am way over doing the carbs

When I went back and looked at my journals from the last time I was at this weight and I plateaued, guess what!?!?!?! You guessed it! Not enough protein and fiber coupled with too many carbs.

SOOOOOOOO, tomorrow I will spend the morning re-doing my meal plans for the week paying close attention to protein, cholesterol, fiber and carb content. Thinking at this point my planning error was that I was meal planning on an empty stomach/low blood sugar time. Which I know full well makes me start craving carbs. Now that I've figured that out and committed to getting more strength training in along with a change up in my cardio, in hoping I can power through this plateau and keep heading in the right direction weight wise. I'm none too concerned about it at this point as I'm seeing body composition shifts.

    I just broke out of a 2 week plateau. Mine was due to too low in calories, not enough water. Once I kicked my calories up to almost the top of my range daily and drank a lake load of water (LOL) it started moving again. Like you I saw composition shifts like crazy during that time, but the scale not moving made me absolutely crazy! Good luck busting out of your plateau!

    It is sooo easy to let an overabundance of carbs sneak into our diets.....cuz they are sooo scrumptious. Great job analyzing your journals and figuring out the problem.
