Failure

Failure is inevitable, it's how you recover from that failure that important. Learning from your own failures is a big step. The more you learn the less failures you have and the more successful you are.

So lately i have felt like i have had a lot of failures and have not recovered from them very well. I know that this is what i need to work on, one thing at a time. Well actually I want to start with working on two things.
The first one, I hadn't drank pop on a regular basis for about 4 years, i would have the occasional one. I started training for a new job at work and for some reason started craving pop. I'm not sure why. It didn't have anything to do with the fact that it was a new job cause it was very similar to the old job i had. And for some reason I just couldn't seem to kick that habit. I would like to start drinking more water again as well as herbal tea. When I am looking for something fruity crystal light would be a good substitute.
The second thing I am gonna work on is my addiction to pizza. I would really like to stay away from frozen pizza and ordering pizza for delivery. If I'm craving pizza I should go for a lean cuisine pizza. I find them to be very good and much smaller than the other pizza's.

Tonight i was thinking about how i would like to go about a new healthy eating habit's. I have some really good protein shakes for my breakfast and lunch. I have a good idea of healthy snacks including Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, fruits and veggies. I am also gonna have some tuna and imitation crab on hand for when I need a little extra.
My biggest trouble was planning out my suppers. I have a good selection of proteins in my freezer, including different fish and chicken. I am gonna use steak as a treat once in a while as well. I have canned veggies as well, yes I know fresh is better but for all my failures it would go bad and i would waste a lot of money, once i change my habits maybe i will change to fresh veggies. I also have fruit cups, again i know fresh is better, baby steps...
however from all the food that i have listed above i need more as this isn't nearly enough calories for the day. So i have decided to try a few new things, this is difficult for me cause i am as picky as a child and don't like to try anything new. The first thing on my list of things to try is mashed cauliflower as a substitute for mashed potatoes, I have done a mixture of the two but never just cauliflower. A couple other things on my list are brown rice, lentils, and quinoa.

I'm looking forward to venturing out and hopefully i will continue to venture out and find new healthy things to eat. suggestions are always welcome.

    My old WW leader used to tell us to try a new fruit, vegetable or spice once a month. It expanded my repertoire beyond my wildest imaginings.

Have you ever made your own pizza? The dough is easy; you can make a cold rise dough the night before, or a quick rise a couple of hours before. You can use your own toppings (I like spinach and feta), bake it on a stone in an oven at 550, or use your grill for foccacia. And freeze the leftovers for later.
