Old friends and laughter

The past couple of weeks have been interesting to say the least but I'm still here and I'm still smiling.
I was back to see my "shrink" and she is a bit concerned and wants me to add another antidepressant to the two I take now. I'm reluctant but I know I have the prescription in my purse if I need it. I'm not ruling out not taking it but she figured it would help "lift me up" a bit but I want to see if I can through this with diet changes and maybe add in some fatty acids.
July 6 marked seven years since Dad passed away. We decided to remember him by going to his birthplace and let the dogs run on the extensive and vacant beach. It was a wonderful day and we enjoyed it. Louisa spent hours in the lake, Maddy chased a helicopter and Ginger chased bunnies, flies, blowing sand, etc! On the way home they all fell asleep andJohn and I exchanged funny stories about my father.
The next day my long time friend arrived in town from Vancouver and I haven't stopped laughing since. Brian and I met in our first year of university and although he has been gone away for 20+ years it is one of those friendships that just pick up where we left off.
We've been exploring the island and every where we go people think we're married! It's pretty hilarious because Brian is married to Luke ( who both John and I adore) and well, I'm married to John. He (Brian) has been taking some great pictures so I will have to share some with you later. We are both fascinated by old cemeteries so that is what we've been looking at. Weird, isn't it?
This weekend marks our towns civic celebrations and The Eagles are headlining the outdoor concert. I'm not really into concerts but I'm thinking about going anyway. John is not interested at all so he will gladly stay home and take care of the furry rascals. We've got company coming for the concert and in past years our towns population doubles overnight. You don't know who or what you are going to see and that's the fun part. As John says "you just don't know who is going to blow in through your front door during the Salmon Festival."
Well, I must go and get our BBQ ready for supper. Hamburgers!!! Yummy.
P.S. our weather has been amazing. I know most of you in the Northern Hemisphere are used to the heat but we don't get much here. Over the weekend it hit 34 degrees but it is only 22 here today with a frost warning for tonight!
