How to distract myself from eating.

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

So one of my biggest obstacles to overcome is my need to stress feed!! Whenever I get stressed out I feel like I deserve that Dairy Queen or that burger and fries...and well life just isn't that fair!
I've have had to find hobbies to distract me from putting food in my mouth. I love to walk, but depending on the weather and my kids that isn't always an option.
I have started an awesome hobby, crocheting! I have been doing it since high school, but it wasn't till recently I got super into it! I even created my own Facebook page and sell my creations! It has turned out to be 1)an amazing distraction 2)a wonderful stress reliever and 3) I get to make a little money on the side! It's a win win situation!!

My first and only stuffed animal, it is fun but hard to make!

I made this today

Some of the hats I have made

Love the little chick. I bought one that was inside a crocheted egg. the two halves untied to reveal the little guy inside. The kids just loved it.

Crocheting is a great distraction to keep you from mindless munching when you're feeling stressed. I spend a good amount of time crocheting. It keeps my hands busy, ad II can't eat when I'm crocheting. I don't want to get my hook or my yarn dirty so that works well for me. The hats are cute.

keep those hands and mind busy and food will not be a thought

What a great idea! How creative you are and it is good to have something to do with your hands.

Way to Go!
