Summer is busy

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

Samantha my 11 year old has soccer today and thursday. All the kids have tutoring on thursdays and wednesday is garden and fun night. These are all free programs offered from our Community house. It is run at night. The new thing is on Mondays my girls were supposed to have cheerleading but....i made a choice and the girls are fine with it. I am a single parent and cant be in 2 places at once. So my son was offered on Mondays to take kayaking. It is geared for special needs kids. So i told the girls and they were disappointed but since Cory had to wait around while they were at cadets they agreed. I took them to the dam/falls at Hogs back and they loved getting misted. I brought hamburgers and we ate while looking at duck...yes they fed the bread to the ducks. Then we took Cory and we loved watching him. I was sure he wouldnt get in the boat but he did. He was a natural...and yes he was in the boat alone. The volunteer rode in her own kayak. She told himwhat to do and off he went. He loved it and as nervous as i was.....i was also so proud that he was doing so well.
He cant wait to go back and he girls want to go to the falls and feed the ducks so it was a fun bonding time as well. His instrutor was shocked he had never done kayaking before. He is just a natural at it. Yes i know proud mom but i am proud to be a proud Mom.
