Hey exercise in the morning, trying it out~ Waste Management and I have an issue~

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

I took a walk for 35 minutes in the neighborhood and a guy in a work truck stared very hard at me. I ignored him well enough but it was kinda sweet. So enough of my his appreciating me! I wanted to walk this morning because I wanted to get in a half hour but also because it seems it is much cooler and not as sunny and like a furnace out there. I still prefer evening walking but I think 3-4 times a week I am going to do a half hour in the morning.
I also did the 17 minute Barre Workout which utilized Pilates pretty well and weights in a section. At the end of the video I did 10 minutes of stretching to complete my time. So if I want to I can do my hour walk later and be done with it. If I have energy I will do 90 minutes but I've already done an hour exercise so no pressure there!
I wanted to do a strength training type video and I went easy enough at it but I'm feeling the love. I enjoy the yoga and stretching very much even if I am going very easy at it to avoid injury. It makes sense though right. Plus I have just been walking for over 2 months and I figured if I can stick to the walking then I have gained a new habit and I'm on my way to lifelong fitness and strength!!!!

This morning I have an unpleasant call to make to Waste Management. In December I cancelled service in Louisiana where I lived before. I explained the situation to the representative I talked to and we left on a Thursday and trash pickup is Friday there. SO they picked up the last trash we paid for since we were paid through the end of December. The representative gave me the cancellation number and said just to leave the trash can out front so they can pick it up. I said fine and we drove here to Sin City. Okay, so now its January or beginning of February and we receive a bill from WM and it looked like they wanted us to pay January-April according to the invoice. I make the call and say we don't live there anymore and the representative said we will take care of it. It looks like the new homeowner hadn't registered his service yet. Okay, so now its the beginning of April another bill shows up and I'm thinking to myself what is the problem so I sent an email and figured the problem was resolved since I never received any further bills or notification. Fast forward to the end of June I receive another bill, I call WM July 2nd and come to find out the bill wasn't to pay for trash service from January-April. It was because they had to come out two times to pick up the trashcan.
So basically it took me 6 months and a notice by a debt collection agency to get someone on the phone who knew what the heck was going on. I was hotter than a furnace. My hair probably turned a little more crimson with this situation. I wouldn't be so mad about it except for 2 things. It took me 6 months to get someone who knew what the issue really was, because I assumed by their bills that they were trying to get us to pay for trash service when we cancelled. Second I explained to the representative when I cancelled that we were leaving the day before the trash was picked up and wouldn't be there about January 2nd when they would pick up the trashcan.
Honestly to pick up the trashcan is plain silly because I had let them know the new homeowner would be living there pretty quick, and if you don't have the recent sticker they send out every quarter, they won't pick up your trash for you.
Thank goodness here we have Republic Services 2 times a week and recycle. I hated WM for no recycling services alone! Wish me luck because I'll probably need it after talking to these very fine people (insert sarcasm here.)

I agree with the morning walk idea, much cooler here anyway.
I think you can indeed count your walking as a habit if you've been doing it regularly for two months. Congrats on that!
It's kind of sad to me how when people in customer service aren't able to use common sense.

Bad customer service does take it's toll on the nerves. We don't have curbside recycling in the rural area where I live either so we haul ours to an unmanned station which is a pain. Great job on all the exercise.
