It's the Little Things

I looked in the mirror yesterday and thought "Man, there's no way I've lost anything. I've been working so hard and I look exactly the same!" I immediately got down on myself and started thinking of all of the things I had eaten and how I hadn't been strict enough with myself.
Then, despite my better judgement, I stepped on a scale to confirm what my eyes were telling me.
I was almost 4lbs down!
My eyes bulged in disbelief. I stepped off the scale and stepped back on. Yep, it was gone. I had finally broken through my plateau!
So here's the celebrating the little victories, even when we don't think we've made any difference. We need to get up and do a happy dance for ourselves. We need to pat ourselves on the back. A journey is full of milestones and pitfalls. Healthy living is not instantaneous and it will continue through out my life. So this is my verbal happy dance! I'm back on track and on my way to my goal!
