Count Nutrition, not Calories

I read somewhere a small snipitt of advice, and it was to count nutrition, not calories. What a simple concept! Instead of worrying about my calories, I wanted to focus on eating for nutrition.

Well, last night my husband and I went on a date. We had steaks, salads, and potato wedges. I coudn't finish all of my steak or wedges, and the cucumbers on the salad tasted so fresh! We then went to the movies where I ordered a kids pack (kids size popcorn and soda), my husband said it was so I could get the cool little dispicable Me toy that comes on the top of the cup--but really it's all I needed. This morning I woke up knowing I needed to eat something even though my brain and stomach wasn't wanting any part of it. So I grabbed some apple wedges out of the fridge and choked down a handfull. It wasn't a lot, but it is a start.

I also bought a few new pairs of shorts last night while we were waiting for the movie to start. I started looking in the womans section and quickly realized there are no cute shorts there. So I moved on to the juniours sizes--and I was actually able to fit into a juniours size COMFORTABLY! I am hoping they will be too big next year, but even if they are not, they are super cute. My husband calls them "shorty shorts"

While I am tired today, I am still hoping to get my lifting in and my cardio. Scratch that. I WILL get my lifting in today, and we WILL be playing volleyball tonight if the rain holds off.
