Okie dokie! Things are looking good!
This morning imagine my shock when I saw that I was down over 3 pounds from my 120 pound starting weight! I am now at 116.8. I can't believe that just a few days of eating right has made this big of a difference... Well, yes I can. When I think about where I was getting my calories from the last few weeks, it makes sense. And I had gone pretty sporadic with my workouts. Consistency really is the key.
As I'm thinking about my wager with my hubby, I'm really thinking I'm going to win, and I'll tell you why. My husband HATES cardio. He walks a lot with his job, but he doesn't ADD any cardio to his daily routines at all. He loves food, and while he IS eating better since our challenge started, he's not changed up his fitness routine all that much. And he was already pretty buff before we started... So I'm putting my money on the fact that I have the biggest change to make... The difference between where I am and where I'm going is going to be a lot bigger.
Another thing I was thinking about this morning is how healthy a little friendly competition has been for the two of us. We've always been pretty health conscious, but just a little fun bet has helped both of us really buckle down and see what our bodies can do. We want to be young, vibrant parents for our boy - longterm. We want to be healthy into our middle age and beyond. We've always wanted to eat better and be stronger. The body is the Lord's temple, after all. If you only have one shot at life, why not make it count in a body that says, Thanks, God, for legs and arms that work? :)
