Ahhhhh! Summer Vacation!

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

You know how they say you can't wait to rest and relax on summer vacay? They obviously do not have kids!

We are in our 2nd week of summer holidays, and already we have been to Marineland in Niagara falls (a 3-hr drive), and to the cottage for a week (with the rest of my family including brothers-in-law and Mom), and now to Toronto for a flash trip (I am back to work but the kids had to come with me)!

Marineland was awesome! The kids were able to pet and feed the beluga whales, we watched the water show, and hit just about every ride! It was raining off and on, which kept the lines down. The boys had a great time, and we even snuck in feeding marshmallows to huge fish!

The cottage was the next day! I still had to get us packed, the hubby was really anxious to get going which made him somewhat obnoxious, and the kids were still tired and cranky from the long day at Marineland. Not an auspicious start to a week-long holiday with my family. Things turned out pretty good, though. No major fights, lots of walking, lots of laughing, lots of food, lots of drink! 5-lb gain (YUCK). I have managed to get 2 lbs off already, which makes me feel a little better.

Now we are back to work! Ooops! Gotta go! Mr. Wonderful needs to be woken up for work!

Sounds like you all had a great time. I remember when my children were small and we went on family vacations. You all will remember these forever!

Glad you had a great time vacaying with the family! Enjoy those times ~ they grow up before you know it.
